Scott “Kidd” Poteet has lived as interesting a life as just about anyone you’ll come across. Although he isn’t a huge outdoorsman, I’ll never pass up the chance to visit with fascinating individuals, especially when it comes to our veterans. The retired Air Force Lt. Colonel logged over 400 combat hours in his 20 year military career. Much of that centered around dropping bombs in the Middle East. We talk about taking out targets and removing threats from the view of his F-16 while traveling at speeds up to 400 miles per hour. Other highlights from the conversation include:

  • When did he know he wanted to be a fighter pilot?
  • What is an “Aggressor Squadron”
  • Tuna fishing off the coast of New Hampshire
  • Alaska Salmon fishing
  • What was it like being on the first civilian mission into space?
  • Polaris Dawn
  • Ironman Triathlons (he’s completed 16)
  • Fitness
  • Nutrition
  • 5 super foods for a healthy brain
  • Kidd asks Cable about archery elk hunting
  • Getting a degree in Outdoor Recreation
