Our good friend and passionate big game hunter Baker Leavitt returns to the show on this episode of Campfire Conversations. We talk all things hunting Africa and what it means forĀ your bank account. You might be surprised at how much the American dollar gets you on the Dark Continent. Baker, who turns 50 in a couple weeks, is heading back to South Africa and Zimbabwe in August for a tuskless cow elephant hunt. We also hit on the reality that air line travel isn’t what it used to be.
We mix in a few of our own experiences in the African bush before diving into the proposed public land sell off by Utah Senator Mike Lee and a couple other important bullet points from Trump’s budget reconciliation package known as the “Big Beautiful Bill”. One thing many of us might not have considered with the DOGE cuts is that reality that foreign assistance isn’t always what it appears to be on the surface.
