When I read the press release from Texas Parks and Wildlife I was surprised to say the least. The multi year study on big largemouth bass revealed some interesting facts that I was unaware of. How big is a largemouth’s home range? Do they migrate around their lake as the seasons and weather patterns change? How tolerant are they really when it comes to boat traffic and noise?
Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries District Supervisor Jake Norman (Tyler Region) joins me on this episode to take an in depth look at the results of the multi year study his team conducted on Lake Fork and Toledo Bend Reservoirs. How did they implement a tracking device into the fish? How were the fish collected? What size fish were sampled? And most importantly, what did the data show? What impact does LiveScope have on bass and other species such as crappie?
Interesting stuff that might help us better understand our favorite freshwater sport fish.
