This was a trip two years in the making and one that I’d wanted to check off the bucketlist for some time. Kent Cartridge actually set this trip up for 2023 but a bad weather system saw last year’s trip postponed at the last minute. That only added to the anticipation of what the Eastern seaboard had in store for myself and good friends Jeff Barry and Hunter Colbert of Kent Cartridge and my new friend Matt Gray of Arkansas.
The 4 of us met up in Boston and spent three days chasing ducks in New England. We discuss our expectations leading into the trip and how everything played out on this episode. Highlights include:
- What does the incoming Trump Administration mean for ammunition manufacturers going forward?
- The history and tradition of East Coast waterfowling
- Eiders in your lap
- Old Squaws at mach 1
- Scoters on the deck
- long lining out of Boston Harbor
- black ducks in the marsh
- a barn burner on the rocks
- a little bling to boot!
- layout boats
- traveling with “wall hangers”
- hiccups with TSA
- oysters all around
- A return to pump action shotguns due to Massachusetts ridiculous gun laws
- Bismuth bringing the thunder
- and much more!
