Ducks Unlimited’s big event takes place in North Texas this weekend! DUX 2023 kicks off Friday and runs through Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway. The entire waterfowl community converges for 3 days celebrating this passion we all love. DU’s National Director of Event Fundraising David Schessler makes his return on this installment of Campfire Conversations. We discuss DUX and some of the highlights/exhibitors that are attending this year’s event.

Then we get into the Northern Pintail (perhaps the most regal of waterfowl species) and it’s continued negative population trend over the past couple of decades. While other species are thriving, the pintail continues to struggle. David gives us a couple schools of thought as to why that is.
