Thermal optics have long been associated with hog and predator hunting. However, more affordable units have made it a must have for the deer hunter. Yes, deer hunter in my opinion. Surveying your hunting area with a thermal monocular will allow you to sneak in and out of your set up without blowing deer out of the area. I currently use the Pulsar Axion going in and out of all my archery sets. Pulsar’s Blake Johnson dropped by the studio to discuss the Axion as well as their new Thermion rifle scope.

Next we check in with the creator of one of my favorite products when Rob Shaw of Skull Hooker joins the discussion. Skull Hooker serves a variety of purposes but for me, it’s all about displaying my trophy in a stylish manner meanwhile saving space due to Skull Hooker’s design. Big fan Skull Hooker and don’t forget you get 10% off any of their products with my promo code “Lonestar” when you check out on their website.

We wrap up the episode by talking optics packages for various situations with our old friend Mark Boardman of Vortex Optics. Specifically, we compare our back country optics packages vs what we use for whitetail hunting. Mark with a beautiful Wisconsin whitetail he took last week!
