The rural homestead or get away has never looked more appealing considering the state of affairs in our nation. Lone Star Ag Credit’s Patrick Hejl dropped by the studio for a  candid conversation on what has transpired in the land acquisition market in 2020. Lone Star Ag Credit has been around for over a century and continues to set the standard for rural property loans today. Of course we also talk some hunting and share a few laughs from our outdoor experiences.

Don’t forget we’re giving away this 50 quart Lone Star Ag Credit Bison Cooler this week as well! Tune in for details on how to win or check out my Instagram page.

Next, Collin County bow hunter Brandon Hughes drops by with what could be the biggest free range whitetail taken in Texas this year. Certainly will rival any archery buck you’ll see and it’s no surprise that this latest giant was taken in Collin County which keeps turning out 200 class whitetail seemingly season after season. Brandon talks about his 3 year history watching this buck he nicknamed “Potential” grow. Most amazingly, however is the fact that the deer put on over 80 inches of bone between his 4.5 year old and 5.5 year old racks. You can see the difference in the image below at 4.5 years old.

Brandon also lays out the details of how the buck met it’s fate on October 14th of this season. BTW, Brandon took the buck on a small property that was less than 25 acres!

“Potential” at 4.5 years old.
